Yet another mum has been asked to stop feeding her baby in public after a complaint.
Rebecca Lunt, 29, was breastfeeding her 12-week-old daughter Isla Birch in the in-store cafe in the Aintree branch of Kiddicare when she was told to stop and sit elsewhere.
The Liverpool Echo reports that the young mum was left 'annoyed' and 'embarrassed' as the member of staff told her someone had complained about her.
Rebecca told the paper that although it 'takes a lot of courage to breastfeed' in public, she had done it in many places before without ever being asked to stop.
"The staff member who approached me was quite flustered but I don't think they should ever have made me aware of his complaint," she said.
"I always try to be discreet as possible when feeding in public. There were women walking around with shorts and vests that day that would've been showing more flesh."
Rebecca says she was told to move to the 'feeding area' in the store, but that she refused. Her furious partner Mike Birch, 40, said that it was 'diabolical' to be told off for breastfeeding in a baby store.
A spokesman for the company said they were sorry for any distress the incident had caused Rebecca.
"Kiddicare is a strong supporter of breastfeeding and fully encourages mothers to breastfeed regardless of where they are in our stores – it is entirely their choice," the representative said. "Everyone is entitled to breastfeed or bottle feed wherever they choose and we apologise unreservedly for any distress caused."
