Makeup artist Wendy Rowe looked to the ever-present dichotomy of town and country for inspiration at Burberry's Autumn/Winter show.

"This is the kind of girl who makes fashion her own on the town side, but doesn't mind getting her hands dirty when she's in the country", Rowe said backstage.

This idea leant to a dark but sumptuous smoky eye, that wasn't too heavy on the lid. Rowe did this by using a blend of Gold Trench, Taupe Brown and Almond Eyeshadows.

The new Autumn/Winter shades, Midnight Brown and Mulberry, were then applied for a rich, velvety look around the whole eye area, while an Earthy Blush and Misty Blush highlighted the cheeks.

Two new lips shades from the brand were added to the lips - Sepia Pink and Mocha Glow - for a modern, darker nude look. Rowe's work was complete with a touch of mascara in Midnight Black on the lashes.

As for the hair, Neil Moodie worked with Bumble & Bumble to create a "city blowout goes to the countryside" look.

Bumble & Bumble Prep and Thickening Spray was worked into the roots with a diffuser, before a natural centre-parting was made. The hair was wrapped around a tong to add curls below the chin and Brilliantine plus Spray de Mode was spritzed through to seperate and smooth.
