Backstage at JW Anderson's Spring/Summer 2014 show, the hair and makeup artists were celebrating "individuality".
"The look is raw, real and honest", hairstylist Anthony Turner told us. "There are no gimmicks... it's so much nicer not to have to use hair extensions this season. We're focusing on the individual models and their quirks instead".
Refreshing? You bet.
To get the look, Turner rough dried the hair with his fingers and used L'Oreal Professional's Dust Dry Shampoo for a "lived in effect". The hair was tightly pulled back over the ears and tied into a low ponytail. The best part? "This look isn't perfect", confirmed Turner. In fact - this is a trend that is easy to do at home. Hurrah!
Mac's Lucia Pieroni was in charge of the makeup. "There's a slightly peasant feel to this look", she said. "The skin is clean and matte but the cheeks are ruddy. There's some shading around the eyes and we used a lip pencil in the perfect matte rose shade. The natural makeup trend is definitely more beautiful and healthy this season".
The Nails Inc team were on hand to complement the makeup with their simple, chic, almost natural nail look. The colours? The blush South Molton Street was applied before a top layer of the matte effect Westminster Bridge. More proof that complicated nails have had their day.
