Benedict Cumberbatch will be the voice of Shere Khan in the upcoming Warner Bros ‘The Jungle Book: Origins’ film.
The movie is not be confused with Disney’s upcoming film remake of Rudyard Kipling’s book, which will be a much more child-friendly venture.

The Warner Bros. version will be directed by Andy Serkis, known for playing Gollum in the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ films. ‘Harry Potter’ screenwriter Steve Kloves has also signed up for the project.
Meanwhile, the Disney version already has a star-studded cast, including Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Lupita N’yongo and Idris Elba will take on the role of Shere Khan.
Before starring in the ‘Jungle Book’ film, which is slated for release in October 2016, Benedict will have his final outing as Smaug the Dragon in the third film of ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy.
And next year, in a much-hyped and anticipated turn, he will will tread the boards at the Barbican taking on the lead role in ‘Hamlet’.
