Beyoncé has posted a moving tribute to Michael Jackson on her official website, on the fifth anniversary of the King of Pop’s death, ahead of the beginning of her ‘On The Run’ tour.

The pop diva shares her thoughts on Michael, who died back in 2009, revealing that, in the early stages of her career, she used to take inspiration from him, particularly an early performance of his song ‘Who’s Loving You’.

“Michael taught me that sometimes you have to forget technique, forget what you have on. If you feel silly, you have to go from the gut just let it go.

“Michael Jackson changed me, and helped me to become the artist I am thank you Michael.”

During the first date of her ‘On The Run’ tour in Miami - which she co-headlined with her rapper husband Jay Z - Beyoncé paid tribute to the iconic pop star once again, performing his Jackson 5 hit ‘I Want You Back’ in a mash-up with her signature tune ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’.

She also included a tribute to the late King of Pop in a performance of her song ‘Love On Top’, according to Consequence of Sound.
