"It's a very different take on Back To Black," said a spokesperson for record company Interscope Records.

It is their second collaboration, following their work on her 2011 single 'Party'.

Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z, Beyonce's husband, has collaborated with the filmmaker in the role of executive producer to create the music for the big-screen adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's novel, which stars Leonardo, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

He will also perform some of his own music on the soundtrack.

Jay-Z has hinted he will add a touch of the present-day to the film, which is set in the Roaring 20s, saying: "It's ripe for experimentation and ready to be interpreted with a modern twist."

The 'Great Gatsby' will be released in cinemas on May 17, after its world premiere at the opening night film of the Cannes Film Festival on May 15.
