We’re now just days away from discovering who is to be crowned this year’s ‘Big Brother’ winner, and the bookies’ favourite for the title has now been revealed.
Hughie Maughan is the current hot favourite to be voted the public’s new ‘BB’ champion, with William Hill offering odds of 2/5, despite him not exactly being his fellow housemates’ favourite person.
A spokesperson for the bookies explains: “This has been a long ‘Big Brother’, and in Hughie it looks as if we will have a very controversial potential winner. He is very popular outside the house but the opposite on the inside.”
It has also been revealed that more than three-quarters of the bets made in the lead-up to the final have been on him.
Just behind Hughie are Andy West and Jason Burrill, with odds of 5/1 and 6/1, while Jackson Blyton and Alex Cannon are fourth and fifth favourites on 12/1 and 16/1.
The chances are looking pretty slim for a female winner succeeding reigning champ Chloe Wilburn, with Jayne Connery next on the list at just 16/1.
Sam Giffen and Evelyn Ellis round things off with 25/1 and 50/1, which is bad news for them, given that Monday night’s (25 July) show will reveal a double-eviction, with the cruel twist that the pair who got the chop were axed in the middle of the afternoon with no fanfare, no crowds outside and no interview.
The ‘BB’ final kicks off at 9pm on Tuesday (26 July), with the new series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ launching just two days later.
