The Venice Film Festival is one of the glitziest affairs in the filmic calendar, but not every pretty lady sees it as an opportunity to flash major flesh or ridonculously mahoosive diamonds.
Take the beautiful actress Rebecca Hall, for example. For the premiere of her new movie, A Promise, she chose a chic navy and black illusion gown with just a smidgen of skin on display... and very understated drop earrings her only nod to blingville.
The 31-year-old English lass, who counts Bond director Sam Mendes as her boyfriend, also kept it pretty low-key in the beauty department - a simple chignon fixed at the nape of her neck and hardly a scrap of make-up.
It's certainly not the norm but when you look this good naturally, why mess with it?
Also - can we just point out that Rebecca's whole look reminds us EVER SO SLIGHTLY of what Kate Winslet (Sam's ex) rocked at the same festival back in 2011. Illusion dress - check, simple updo - check, understated make-up - check, drop earrings - check. #justsayin
