Bob Marley is lending his star-wattage from beyond the grave - with the re-release of his classic 1973 song 'High Tide Low Tide' to raise urgently-needed funds to help ease the famine afflicting more than 10 million people in East Africa.

The song is available to download on iTunes, with money raised going to Save The Children's East Africa Appeal.

Other stars supporting the campaign include Eminem, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, David Beckham, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Madonna, Tinie Tempah, Coldplay, Shakira, Bruno Mars and Jennifer Lopez, who will all be posting the song on their Twitter, Facebook and other website pages, so it reaches as many listeners as possible.

Meanwhile, award-winning director and huge Marley fan Kevin Macdonald (Last King of Scotland) has created a short film with dramatic footage taken from East Africa last week with Marley's track providing a haunting backdrop.

Bob's widow, Rita Marley said, "Not one child should be denied food nor water. Not one child should suffer. Along with Save the Children, we [must] stand up together as friends to put a stop to this, to feed our children and to save their lives."
