The body of a 16-year-old boy who had been in the water with a group of friends has been recovered from a river in Greater Manchester.
Police were called shortly before 5.45pm on Tuesday to the River Etherow, near Broadbottom Road in Hyde, to reports that a body was in the river.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers attended and the body of a 16-year-old boy was found. There are no suspicious circumstances."
The spokeswoman added: "He was with a group of friends, they were in the water."
No-one else was taken to hospital.
It is believed the teenager had been with a group of youths.
Officers from GMP and Derbyshire Constabulary attended the scene along with the fire service and paramedics.
GMP's underwater search unit was also deployed.
