Women who have breast augmentation surgery or boob jobs for cosmetic reasons tend to do so because they aren't happy with their original size.
While some of us are in the camp that you should just make do with what nature has given you (but then arguably we wouldn't have Ru Paul), it's not surprising that they feel a surge of confidence after the plastic surgery.
And, an even better side effect, researchers have found, is that they have a much more improved sex life.
However, experts can't agree whether it's because of an increase in body confidence, or because the women have spent the money on themselves.
Dr Paulo Guimaraes led a team of Brazilian researchers, reported The Daily Mail, and it involved 45 women who planned to undergo breast implant surgery.
They were asked to fill out a questionnaire before the surgery that looked at their sexual desire, arousal and sexual satisfaction. They then filled in the questionnaire again two, four and 18 months after surgery.
Apart from nine women who developed stretch marks after the surgery, the other 36 women who did not develop stretch marks after surgery said they had experienced improved levels of arousal and were more satisfied with their sex lives.
Psychologist Tomi-Ann Roberts, professor of psychology at Colorado College and a member of the American Psychological Association's task force on the sexualization of girls says that it is because women are spending money on themselves.
Philly.com reported the professor as saying: "When we have exerted a great effort, spent a great deal of money and effort and time on something, we tend to justify that effort. Our good feeling is increased because of the effort, not the thing itself."

Cosmetic Surgeon Creates Perfect Body For His Wife (And Himself)
"I think that the female breast is a very important part of a woman's body, in terms of how a woman feels about herself in public, how her clothes fit and how she feels about herself sexually," said Dr. David Reath, chair of the public education committee of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). "It's very common for a woman post-surgery to say she feels more confident, that her outward body now fits her inward persona."
So who should we believe? We spoke to cosmetic surgeon Mr Miles Berry, co-author of The Good Boob Bible, who says: "The fact you can't get a standard answer indicates that we don't know. Women are rather complex creatures - men are much simpler - and this shows that some women fulfill some of those answers, neither are completely correct and neither are wrong.
"It is immensely complicated business and even if you have the most perfect breasts after surgery, you can still be miserable with them. And then sometimes we can look at the pictures and we may not like it or think we could have done better, and the client is ecstatic about it."
What is clear is that when it comes to plastic surgery for breasts, motivation is a very important factor. For women who are deeply unhappy with their breasts, surgery may be a way of giving them back that confidence. But for women who have a general dissatisfaction with themselves and for whom body image is a much bigger problem, surgery could make it worse.
"We spend 45 minutes after an initial consultation trying to find this out," says Miles. "Is it about the breast or is it about something entirely different? Sometimes it is so much more psychological.
"We are trying to filter out people with people who aren't going to be unhappy even if they have surgery because it is a risky procedure and we have to ask them those questions."
