Bottom-Pincher Bradley Richards Let Off With 'Festive' Curfew

Bottom-Pincher Let Off With 'Festive' Curfew

An unemployed kitchen fitter has been given a "festive" punishment after he squeezed the bottom of a female Police Community Support Officer.

Bradley Richards, 27, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to common assault.

The court heard he squeezed the bottom of PCSO Jennifer Dagnall and asked for her phone number when she was trying to deal with a "potential anti-social behaviour situation" outside a Liverpool chip shop at around 8.30pm on April 8.

He was initially charged with sexual assault and if he had been found guilty of that charge he could have been forced to sign the sex offenders' register.

However, last month the Crown Prosecution Service accepted a guilty plea to common assault.

Judge David Aubrey QC sentenced Richards, who was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a black hooded top, to a two-month Community Order.

He was told to obey a curfew between 8pm and 6am when he must not leave his home in Primrose Court, Hillside, Liverpool. The curfew will be electronically monitored.

Judge Aubrey said he caused PCSO Dagnall to suffer "embarrassment, distress and anxiety".

He added: "I am well aware that we are about to enter the festive season. That is one of the reasons why I am imposing this order.

"I am going to give you an opportunity to reflect upon that which you did and punish you for that which you did."
