Team GB have won gold in the women’s team pursuit at the Rio Olympics.
Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell-Shand, Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker broke their own world record set in qualifying.
They beat the USA team in a time of 4:10:236.
Trott has become the first British woman to win three Olympic gold medals.
She told the BBC: “[Winning a third gold medal] was something I wanted to achieve and to do it alongside these three girls is just incredible,” said Trott.
“The feeling we were getting, it was like this machine was coming together. To come away with a time of 4.10 was honestly incredible.”
Trott could make it four this Games as she is still to compete in the omnium on Tuesday.
Canada earlier beat New Zealand to take the bronze medal.
Chris Hoy said: “It was phenomenal, the Americans did not produce a bad ride.
“USA attacked at the start, but the Brits responded. Laura produced a two-lap spell that turned things around, America lost a rider and the gap got bigger and bigger.
“It is so great to see the celebrations. So much work has gone into this and it is great to see the hard work paying off.”
Great Britain’s Becky James also won a silver medal in the women’s Keirin.
