‘Britain’s Got Talent’ magician Darcy Oake has opened up about the heartache he’s suffered since his brother Bruce’s accidental drugs overdose in 2011.
The Canadian magician has revealed that his brother died three years ago after a long struggle with drug addiction.

Darcy has opened up about the last time he saw Bruce, explaining that he seemed healthy and happy just three months before his death.
“The last time I saw him was that Christmas. He had been clean for more than a year and had a job and girlfriend,” he told The Sun. “Three months later my mum rang me at 7am and told me he was dead.
The magician added that Bruce was a “full-blown” addict at the age of 21, four years before his death. The Sun reports that he was hooked on heroin, painkillers and crystal meth.
“It’s this devastating, crushing thing. When someone dies like that, you don’t get answers,” Darcy added. “It took years for me to deal with it and it changed me. It taught me what’s important.
Darcy is hoping to win the ‘BGT’ final on Saturday 7 June and he’s planning to use the prize money to fund a rehab facility being set up by his family if he wins the show.
“It would make a big difference. But it’s not just about the money.” he said. “It’s about presenting a craft I’m proud of to the audience.”
Darcy will be competing against ten other acts in Saturday’s final, including dancers Paddy and Nico, musical duo Bars And Melody and violinist Lettice Rowbotham.
