Britain's Got Talent Hopeful Jacob Jones Announces His Fiancée Is Pregnant After Semi-Final Performance

Jacob previously caused a stir at his audition when he proposed to his partner live on stage.

Britain’s Got Talent performer Jacob Jones had another surprise in store after his performance in this year’s semi-finals, revealing that he and his fiancée are expecting are a baby.

Jacob already made headlines once this year when, during his initial BGT audition, he proposed to his long-term partner Faye live on stage.

Having made it to the next stage of the competition, Jacob performed a stripped-back version of Have I Told You Lately? during Friday night’s semi-final, obviously taking the moment to pay tribute to his new fiancée by serenading her personally.

The judges were less convinced, though, particularly Amanda Holden, who admitted she felt that Jacob’s time on BGT had become more about his relationship than his singing aspirations.

After receiving his critiques, Jacob let slip that he had one last surprise in store.

“Since our audition,” he began, “My family don’t know, but me and Faye are expecting a baby.”

The announcement won Jacob a lot of applause from the audience, with Ant McPartlin joking: “If he gets to the final what the hell will he reveal there?”

Friday night’s semi-final was probably the most unconventional of the week, with performers including eccentric tambourine player Gonzo and stand-up comedian Barbara Nice and escape artist Jonathan Goodwin.

Child dance act Libby & Charlie also took to the stage, having been brought in at the eleventh hour to replace magic act Brotherhood, who were forced to pull out over apparent health and safety concerns.

This year’s Britain’s Got Talent winner will be crowned live on air during Sunday night’s final, kicking off at 7.30pm on ITV.
