Britain’s Got Talent’ contestant Paddy Jones - who makes up one half of salsa-dancing duo Paddy and Nico - has spoken of her disappointment after being forced to back out of the contest after sustaining an injury.

The salsa-dancing duo received massive praise for their energetic dance routine in their initial audition, which saw Paddy being thrown around - in her own words - “like a whirling dervish”.

However, it clearly wasn’t to be as it was reported yesterday that Paddy had injured herself while rehearsing for their semi-final performance, meaning she’d be unable to perform in the live show.

She’s now spoken for the first time about the disappointment she felt having to forfeit her place in the TV talent show, telling The Sun: “It’s heartbreaking.

“I’ll be flying back to London this afternoon but I cannot compete at the weekend. I’m feeling much better but there is no way I can dance - I’ve been told I won’t be able to for another month at least.

“I’m absolutely devastated. I was really looking forward to competing.”

The live final of this year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ will air on Saturday, 1 June, and will see the likes of magician Darcy Oake, teenage rappers Bars and Melody and violinist Lettice Rowbotham competing for a spot in next year’s Royal Variety Performance, as well as a cash prize of £250,000.
