Britney Spears may have smiled and laughed her way through her recent appearance on ‘Carpool Karaoke’, but it seems the experience wasn’t an altogether positive one for the pop singer.
Last week, the ‘Make Me’ singer became the latest singer to take a spin with James Corden, while they listened to some of her biggest hits on the radio and sang (or, indeed, mimed) along.
However, describing filming the sketch in a new radio interview, Britney has admitted that there were aspects she wasn’t too crazy about.
She told KTU 103.5: “It was a little awkward, like, driving by grocery stores. People walk by and there are like 18 cameras around us. This is just so awkward.”
Britney also confessed that she wasn’t thrilled about James Corden’s music choices, even if they were lifted from her back catalogue.
Naming ‘...Baby One More Time’ and ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’ specifically, she added: “He controlled the whole thing, and sometimes I got onto him and said, 'I don't want to hear that song again'. They didn't show that part.
She was full of praise for the presenter, though, saying of James Corden: “The guy was just so incredibly sweet. I had no idea he has kids, he’s like a teddy bear. I was like, ‘I just want to hug you right now’. It was fun.”
While Britney is the latest A-lister to join the ‘Carpool Karaoke’ hall of fame, she’s joining a long list of stars who’ve already taken part, including Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey and Rod Stewart, while Adele’s remains the most-watched on YouTube.
James recently revealed his wishlist for future sketches, naming Beyoncé as the star he’s most keen to get in the passenger seat.
