Leading bookmakers are refusing to take bets on who will win the Best Female award at next month's Brit Awards - because Adele is too big a favourite.
The singer is coming off an amazing 2011, during which she wowed the world with the success of her bestselling album 21 and hits like Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You, and top gamblers are refusing to bet against her.
Nominations for next month's Brits were announced on Thursday - and when Adele was unveiled as a Best Female contender, chiefs at Paddy Power announced they would not take bets on the category this year.
A spokesperson says: "It would be unfair to take a penny of anyone's money when it comes to the Best Brit Female award because Adele is such a shoe-in for it. We can't see a way on for anyone else and we would be offering ridiculous odds if we did price the market."
Adele, who has been priced at 5/1 to scoop all three of the awards she's been nominated for, faces competition from Jessie J, Florence + The Machine, Laura Marling and Kate Bush for Best British Female prize.
She is also up for Best Album and Best Single for Someone Like You.
