Broadcaster Andrew Neil has revealed he has secretly married in the south of France.
The 66-year-old former newspaper editor announced he tied the knot with Swedish communications director Susan Nilsson, who is reportedly 22 years his junior.
Neil's dog Molly, known for her television appearances on his BBC show This Week, was also at the ceremony.
Sharing photographs on Twitter from his wedding day, Neil wrote: "Secret is out! So thought y'all might like a picture! Married Magonosc, Grasse, August 8th to the Swedish Engineer."
Deal or No Deal presenter Noel Edmonds and his wife Elizabeth Davies, who are close friends with the couple, were the only guests at the ceremony, according to the Daily Mail.
Ms Nilsson has been the director of communications at the engineering firm Waterman Group since October last year. She has reportedly been dating Neil for the last five years.
Well-wishers were quick to share their congratulations on Twitter.
Former deputy prime minister John Prescott wrote: "Congratulations @afneil on your marriage. I trust that's @BlueNunWines you're drinking?
Former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan wrote: "BOOM! The final bastion of singlehood crumbles. Congrats @afneil & Susan Nilsson on their marriage. Wonderful news."
Asked whether she attended the ceremony, Labour MP Diane Abbott, who regularly appears on This Week, said: "I wasn't invited to the nuptials! But wish @afneil the very best."
Neil presents the BBC's Daily Politics, Sunday Politics and This Week shows and chairs the media group that owns The Spectator.
He edited the Sunday Times from 1983 to 1994 and was also one of the founding members of Sky TV.
