‘The Lost Boys’ star Brooke McCarter has died at the age of 52.
The actor, who played vampire Paul in the hit 1987 movie, passed away on Tuesday (22 December) from a liver condition.
The news of his death was confirmed by his family in an announcement on Facebook.

“The McCarter family is heartbroken to share the news that Brooke McCarter passed away December 22, 2015 from the genetic liver condition alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AAT)," the statement read.
"He was 52. Brooke was our loving son, brother, father, cousin, nephew and friend.
“Funeral arrangements are still being finalized. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Brooke started out as a model at the prestigious Ford modeling agency in New York City after winning a national talent competition.
But he was best known for his role as Paul in ‘The Lost Boys’ alongside Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patrick.
In 1998 he decided to take a break from the acting world and did not take on another role for ten years.
He was last seen in the film ‘Wired’, about the life of John Belushi, in which he co-starred with Michael Chiklis.
