Bundesliga fans won't even get to see referees' vanishing spray before it, well, vanishes after German safety suits banned the spray from coming into use on 18 October due to health hazards.
The officious chaps at Technischer Überwachungs-Verein (TÜV) have decreed the foam tested positive for “hormonally active” ingredients, infringing Bundesliga safety requirements.
Bild claim the spray is also flammable. That would have made for a catastrophic concoction if a flare landed near the spray.
The TÜV also discovered there was an excessive amount of greenhouse gases and the packaging is also not in German.
