Carl Fletcher was reduced to tears following his sacking as Plymouth Argyle manager on New Year's Day.
A 2-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers has left Plymouth perilously close to the relegation zone in League Two and former West Ham midfielder Fletcher, 32, was dismissed after 16 months in charge.
Fletcher played for the Pilgrims for two years before being named as caretaker player/manager in September 2011 when Peter Reid left the club.
He helped keep the club in League Two last season but oversaw just five wins out of 26 in 2012-13 before leaving Home Park.
