Arsenal are expected to activate the release clause which would allow them to re-sign striker Carlos Vela from Real Sociedad, according to the club's president.
Mexican Vela made little headway with the Gunners between 2005-2011 and join Sociedad for £2.5 million in 2012 after an initial loan spell, however Arsenal included a £3.5m buy-back clause.
Vela scored 17 goals in La Liga last season
And Sociedad president, Jokin Aperribay, told radio station Cadena SER: “Arsenal have informed us that Vela would be with them next season.”
Arsenal loaned Vela, 25, to Salamanca, Real Osasuna and West Brom before his stint at Sociedad.
