Caroline Flack’s boyfriend Lewis Burton has insisted that he and the Love Island host are very much still together, despite recent reports to the contrary.
On Wednesday night, The Sun claimed that Caroline and Lewis had decided to end their relationship, a month after a judge forbade them from making contact with one another, amid the presenter’s ongoing assault case.
However, he has now set the record straight, revealing that his and Caroline’s relationship is still ongoing.
“We ain’t split,” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself and the former Strictly Come Dancing winner.
He added: “Can’t wait to see you.”
Caroline is currently awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to charges of assault by beating at a hearing last month.
The court heard that she allegedly hit Lewis over the head with a lamp as he slept at her north London home, though both parties have denied that this is the case.
In the last few weeks, Caroline has been keeping a low profile, revealing she’d been “advised not to go on social media”, and recently returned to the UK after spending some time out in the States.
However, she has posted a couple of times on Instagram, once to wish Laura Whitmore luck as the new host of Love Island, and again on Tuesday night, ahead of the National Television Awards, where the ITV2 dating show had been nominated in the Best Challenge Show category.
ITV2’s commissioning editor Amanda Stavri has made it clear that she’d be happy to see Caroline back at the helm of Love Island in the future.
She told The Mirror: “We are continuing to talk to Caroline. We are in constant contact and the door is open.”
