The South By Southwest Film Festival is an opportunity for the kookier side of the cinematic world to make its presence felt. As a clear-cut example of just that, Catcam The Movie is premiering there, and it's just as odd as the title suggests.
Created by German American engineer Jürgen Perthold, Catcam explores the secret life of his pet cat, Mr. Lee, as he wanders about, doing cat stuff.
The trick to it all is the innovative camera that Perthold designed and built to hang around Mr. Lee's neck, which allowed all the footage in the film to be recorded without Mr. Lee's knowledge.
Weighing in at just 70 grams (including batteries), it lasts for two days straight, and if you want your own for your pet moggy, you can buy your a catcam from Perthold's website here.
As for the film itself, it's yet to be picked up for distribution, but we have a sneaking suspicion that it will be pretty darn quickly. After all, who doesn't like cats? Oddballs, that's who. Now, on with the cats playing piano videos...
