Elie Saab at Paris Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2012

WHO? Elie Saab

IN A NUTSHELL: The collection was entitled Color Shock, and (unsurprisingly) red carpet-worthy gowns in crayon box colours ensued. Saab's creations are always unapologetically glamorous, and this season was no exception. There were dramatic 70s silhouettes, right-up-there-splits, and many, many of sequins.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: The caped, flowing full length gowns oozed 1970s glamour, Bianca Jagger style.

F-ROW: Royal ruled with both Princess Beatrice and Thailand's Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana.

VERDICT: This might not be edgy fashion, but Saab's clothes never fail to deliver in their ability to make women look their best, and this season's bold, jewel-like approach to colour ensures that Saab's creations stay on the right side of classic. If any of these dresses don't make it onto the Oscars red carpet, we'll demand a recount.
