Celine has cancelled its upcoming catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2012/13 to take the pressure off the fashion house's creative director Phoebe Philo, who is due to give birth in April.
"A runway show is a very demanding and personal engagement for a creative director," Marco Gobbetti, chief executive officer at Celine told WWD. "The objective is to simplify."
Gobbetti added that Philo, who is expecting her third child, has been involved in all stages of creating the Autumn/Winter 2012/13 collection.

Since taking the reins at the French fashion house in 2008, London-based Philo has reinvented the Celine brand with her luxe, pared-down aesthetic, making the label a fashion editor favourite.
But Paris Fashion Week attendees shouldn't start pining for Ms Philo's creations just yet. The fashion house intends to keep its spot on the calendar, replacing the catwalk show with a small and informal presentation, which will be attended by Philo. The date and time will remain as planned: 4 March at 1pm.
