Centre For Strategic And International Studies Tells Amnesty International To 'Suck It' Over Ferguson tweet

Hey Amnesty - Suck It!
|

The Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), that august foreign policy think-tank based in Washington, tweeted out a less-than-lettered response to Amnesty International on Tuesday, telling the global right organisation to "suck it".

The unusual riposte from the CSIS followed Amnesty’s tweet discussing the protests in Ferguson Missouri, who posted "US can’t tell other countries to improve their records on policing and peaceful assembly if it won’t clean up its own human rights record".

So this happened. #US#Fergusonpic.twitter.com/GbQCA9RebF

Bizarrely, that was enough to elicit the following from the CSIS: "Your work has saved far fewer lives than American inventions. So. Suck it."

The tweet was quickly deleted and an apology was sent out, calling the post "an error". No doubt the social media editor at the CSIS is currently brushing up their CV.

Our sincerest apologies to @Amnesty & our followers. Our last tweet was sent in error. We're reviewing internal policies for social media.
