Charlize Theron put a French TV presenter in his place earlier this week, when he kissed her interpreter without having her consent during an interview.
The Oscar-winning actress had been a guest on the French show Touche Pas A Mon Poste, alongside her Long Shot co-star Seth Rogen.
However, her appearance culminated in her calling out the presenter Cyril Hanouna, when during the interview, he walked over and kissed her interpreter, Nadia, on the cheek, without any warning, quickly telling him: “Maybe ask next time?”
This was then followed by Cyril repeatedly asking Nadia in French whether she enjoyed the exchange.
Understandably, the uncomfortable scene garnered quite a reaction online, with many praising Charlize for standing up for her interpreter in the moment…
Charlize is known for speaking out over social issues that are close to her heart, saying of the Me Too movement last year: “The amount of traction and the amount of women who are being empowered by other women to step forward and actually speak their truth, I know in my life I’ve never seen anything like that.
“I think success for us as women is going to come out of the support that we give each other, out of not stopping this moment. This is a rock rolling down a mountain really fast, and I’m quite enjoying watching it.”
The actress is currently working on the film Fair And Balanced, which details allegations of sexual harassment at the Fox News network.
She will play real-life news anchor Megyn Kelly in the film, who came forward to accuse her boss, Roger Ailes, of sexual misconduct in the workplace.
