The X Factor's Che Chesterman has been voted out of the competition, leaving Louisa Johnson and Reggie 'N' Bollie to battle it out in Sunday's night's final.

The 19-year-old performed two note-perfect tracks and was joined by Rod Stewart in a soulful rendition of The First Cut Is The Deepest but it was not enough to save him from receiving the lowest public vote.

Asked by host Caroline Flack whether he had enjoyed the experience, Chesterman replied: "It was amazing, this journey has gone so quick."

He said his highlight was his friendship with mentor Nick Grimshaw, who hugged his contestant and said: "I'm so, so proud. He's one of my favourite voices in the entire world not just this competition."

Chesterman opened the show singing Phil Collins' In The Air Tonight as he walked through the 10,000 strong crowd at the SSE Arena in Wembley.

In the boxing entrance-themed segment, Louisa Johnson arrived on stage to join him belting out Christina Aguilera's Fighter, while Reggie 'N' Bollie followed with a dynamic version of Kriss Kross' smash hit Jump.

Chesterman returned to the stage with a "nervous" performance of Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse's hit Valerie, according to Simon Cowell.

However Cheryl Fernandez-Versini called his vocals "god-given".

Reggie 'N' Bollie followed with a medley of Spice Up Your Life and Boom Boom Boom by Spice Girls and Outhere Brothers, which Cowell described as "the weirdest song mash-up I've heard, it was like having a strawberry and liver milkshake".

However, he confessed: "I have a feeling you could actually win this show."

But fellow judge Rita Ora said: "I might be the most hated person ever but for me, it was a bit cruise ship for me."

Johnson rounded off the competitors' final solo songs with her take on R Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly.

"Louisa, I think you're an angel. An angel who came to Wembley and sang the roof off. What can I say, 17, unbelievable talent," said Cowell.

The finalists then teamed up with a special guest for the traditional final show duets.

Rapper Fuse ODG flew in from Ghana especially to perform with Reggie 'N' Bollie, beginning their energetic duet with his song Dangerous Love before Craig David joined the trio on stage for a blast of his nostalgic hit Re-Rewind.

Johnson and her mentor Ora united on stage for the first time to sing And I'm Telling You from the musical Dreamgirls, while Stewart and Chesterman began with the Scottish crooner's 1967 hit.

The competition was keen to showcase its past successes with last year's winner Ben Haenow uniting with 2006 winner Leona Lewis for a duet of his new release Slamming Doors and her hit Run.

Haenow's rival Fleur East and 2011 winners Little Mix were back on the show after performances in November but this time joining forces for an explosive mash-up of Black Magic and East's first single Sax.

The winner will be announced on Sunday night after a star-studded results show that will feature Adele, Coldplay and One Direction.
