Cheryl Cole's mum is worried her pop star daughter will be left nursing a broken heart once again after striking up a romance with dancer Tre Holloway.
The Fight for This Love hitmaker sparked rumours she had moved on from ex-husband Ashley when she was spotted on a series of dates with the American hunk earlier this month.
Cheryl is extremely close to her mum, Joan
The pair have grown close since they first met when he was one of her backing dancers on The X Factor in 2010, but alarms bells are going off in her mum Joan's head over fears he won't be in it for the long haul after she was introduced to Tre at a recent party.
A source tells The Sun: “It’s early days and she isn’t 100 percent sure of Tre yet. He looks good on Cheryl’s arm but Joan fears he will not be there for her long term.
“Any man dating Cheryl should be aware they have to pass the vigorous test and standards set by Joan.
“She sees herself as more of a protecting force than ever. As it stands Tre has a long way to go before he is accepted.”
Cheryl also performed with him at G.A.Y earlier this year
Joan is not the only matriarch who has concerns about the blossoming romance - Tre's mum fears Cheryl will be the one who leaves her son brokenhearted.
Tre's mother Shirley told The Sun in a recent interview: "She might hurt him. She's been married before. I don't know Cheryl. I've only seen pictures on the internet. Tre said she was pretty big (in the UK). He's been dancing for her for a couple of years now, I think."
