Simon Cowell may have missed out on Cheryl Cole's 30th birthday party, but he has made it up to his former 'X Factor' co-star by making her a 'Lady', after buying her the title as a gift.
The music mogul - who famously fell out with the Girls Aloud singer after firing her from the US version of 'The X Factor' after just four days in the job - purchased a piece of land in the Scottish Highlands that came with the title.
A source told The Sun: “Simon had the deeds for the land and the details of her new title delivered to where Cheryl was staying.”
She later posted a picture of the land deed on Twitter writing to Simon: "I will now be referred to as Lady Cheryl Cole when you address me both in person & through the media."
Cheryl celebrated her 30th with a lavish £50k party in Las Vegas, and Simon shot down reports he had 'snubbed' the party on Twitter, insisting he only missed the bash because of a clash with his filming dates for 'X Factor USA' auditions.
He wrote: "And I didn't snub Cheryl's party. I just couldn't go because of my filming dates. We are close friends again and I adore her."
Cheryl soon confirmed the pair's renewed friendship when she tweeted back: "don't worry I know. And thank you for my lovely gift!! Xx."
Her Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh were among the guests at her party, and a picture of them passed out with Cheryl's boyfriend Tre Holloway appeared on Twitter after they partied until 3.45am.
However, there was no sign of either Nadine Coyle or Sarah Harding at the bash, amid rumours they were not invited.
Other snaps taken from inside the bash show Cheryl puffing on a cigarette inside the venue. Tut tut.
She could also be seen throwing some serious shapes at Hakkasan as she hit the dancefloor in her stunning white dress.
