A charity which provides wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer treatment is delighted about the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly sending an anonymous donation.
The Little Princess Trust, believed to be the charity that received the hair from Kate, said it is a “great surprise” as they had been unaware of a possible royal donation.
Kate decided to donate her hair during a trip to the hairdressers a few months ago, the Sunday Express reported.
Helen Creese, a spokeswoman for the charity, said: “It’s a complete surprise. Obviously we’re all absolutely delighted that she donated her hair, and we’re very grateful as well, just as we’re grateful to everyone who chooses to support the charity in this way, and so many people do.
“We’re assuming that she might have sent the donation anonymously.”

Ms Creese said that normally people send their hair donation with a slip which contains their name and email address, which the charity then responds to with a certificate.
“It’s very important that we can thank everybody. A big priority of ours is to thank everyone that supports us,” she said.
She said the charity receives anonymous donations from time to time, adding: “It’s such a selfless act anyway to donate your hair to help a sick child or young adult.”
The Little Princess Trust gives away free real hair wigs to children that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.
This will not have been the first time the charity received a high-profile donation, as it received the locks of One Direction star Harry Styles in May 2016.
Kensington Palace declined to comment.
