When you're choosing a name for your baby girl, here are a few things to think about:
Would you like a family connection to the name? Naming a child after a close relative or friend is a lovely gesture, but if you'll always have an image of the original person in your mind it could make things tricky. Write your baby name choices down in front of your daughter's surname, and say the name several times out loud. Do you like the look and sound or it? You will be writing and saying that name for years to come...
Prepare a few different choices. You never know how you are going to feel when your baby girl arrives, or who she will 'look' like. Having a shortlist can be huge help on day she arrives.
Are you picking a middle name and does it 'go' with the first name you have chosen? Of course the whole point of a middle name is for a child to know when they are really in trouble (the minute anyone calls me Elizabeth Jane I am instantly taken back to 1991), but it's worth thinking about.
