Forget all the turkey trimmings and Marks & Spencer ‘It’s not only a pudding, but an M&S pudding’ this Christmas – if you're feeling the pinch, you can feed your friends and family on Christmas Day for under a fiver. Well, £2 to be exact.
Following the news that we’re kicking Brussels and puddings off our dinner list this year and that the main worry on our minds isn’t whether Santa will come, but how much the big day is going to cost us, Studentbeans have come up with an alternative dinner that costs just £2 per head.
Those who enjoy the full-works on Christmas Day might not be amused, but for those who are tightening their purse strings, it could provide a budget way of having your dinner without sacrificing all of its tasty staples. Plus it only takes 10 minutes to make - all you need is a toaster and microwave.
“Following on from the austerity sandwich, why should those lacking in finance and technical know-how miss out on a Christmas dinner with friends?" says Studentbeans Editor, Oliver Brann.
"For less than £2 a head and taking just ten minutes to prepare, you can knock up a meal fit for a king. We gave ours to a homeless man near Beans HQ and he thought it was delicious.”
