Christmas Reading Ideas

Christmas Reading Ideas
|

I thought it might be a nice idea to share some of my favourite Christmas reading ideas for toddlers and children. As someone who used to have their own second hand book business I'm understandably passionate about reading, although these days The Toddler has far more books than The Husband and I combined! I obviously need to up my game.

Stickman, by the brilliant Julia Donaldson, is illustrated by Axel Scheffler who also illustrated The Gruffalo, another favourite of this house. Every time we read Stickman The Toddler finds new details to look at and of course it features Father Christmas himself who is The Toddler's new BFF.

We were given this book as a gift three years ago and it's still popular and is read all year round, which I think is the sign of a great Christmas book.

Rather brilliantly, The Forestry Commission are running some Stickman Trails in forests across the country this year where you can take part in one of their fabulous looking activities. There's also lots of ideas on their website for Stickman related games you could play in your local woods so even if there isn't something going on in your area you could easily make up your own Stickman adventure! I love the idea of bringing this book to life with my son so I'll be trying these out and you can have a look at their website here for more information.

What stories are you looking forward to reading this Christmas?
