Coleen Nolan has posted on social media for the first time since it was announced that she was taking time out from the spotlight.
Earlier this month, Coleen announced she was cancelling her nationwide solo tour and taking a hiatus from ‘Loose Women’, after taking heat for the way Kim Woodburn was treated during her recent appearance on the ITV daytime show.
Since then, she’s been keeping a low profile, including on social media, but briefly returned to Twitter to post a hopeful and optimistic meme.
She posted a photo of a sunset, accompanied by the message: “Change your thoughts, transform your life.”
Proving her commitment to positive thinking, Coleen also made the picture her header image on the social media site.
It’s been a difficult month for Coleen, who faced calls for ‘Loose Women’ to drop her as a panellist in the wake of Kim Woodburn’s interview, which ended in the ‘How Clean Is Your House?’ presenter branding her former ‘CBB’ co-star “trash” and storming off the set.
Reflecting on the drama shortly afterwards, Coleen broke down in tears as she discussed the online abuse she’d received, and admitted it had been the “worst week of her life”.
Her representative later said in a statement: “Following the constant online bullying, trolling and misrepresentation of her words actions and reactions, it is with sad regret that Coleen is taking an immediate hiatus from all her current commitments including Loose Women and postponing her ‘Never Too Late’ solo concert tour.
“Coleen is devastated to let her supporters and fans down, but is currently not strong enough to withstand this constant and unfounded online abuse, so she will be taking time out and spending it with her children and family where she feels loved and respected. She sends her love to everyone who has supported her and knows who she really is and plans to return when she feels stronger.”
Ofcom announced earlier this week that they would be launching an investigation into whether or not ‘Loose Women’ was in breach of their guidelines with their Kim Woodburn segment.
