Everyone loves a good comet - so you might be surprised that there's actually a very decent one burning in the night sky above our heads right now -- you just need a telescope to see it.
Comet Lovejoy, aka C/2014 Q2, is passing through the solar system around 50 million miles from Earth.
It's just about past its peak, but it won't be back for another 8,000 years so it's worth trying to see it while you still can. It should be visible across the northern hemisphere, depending on cloud cover - this video will let you know where to look.
