‘Coronation Street’ looks set to take on one of its most shocking storylines ever later this year, which will see Faye Windass fall pregnant at just 12 years old.
The news of the schoolgirl’s pregnancy is sure to rock her already shaky family life, as her adopted mum Anna Windass - played by actress Debbie Rush - is already struggling to cope after being blackmailed into sleeping with Pat Phelan, her partner Owen’s former business partner.

It’s unknown as of yet exactly how the storyline will play out for young Faye, but a show source told The Sun that it was a subject that would be handled delicately.
The source explained: “This is bound to be a controversial storyline but the programme has a history of handling difficult subject matters in a sensitive and considerate way.”

This new storyline is just the latest drama in the troubled 12-year-old’s life, as Faye hasn’t exactly had an easy time of it up until now.
She was adopted by Anna three years ago, but shortly afterwards her adopted father Eddie Windass disappeared from the scene, prompting the youngster to feel guilty and responsible for him leaving.
Faye has also had a difficult time of it at school, having been the victim of cyber-bullying while also falling in with the wrong crowd when she made friends with Grace, who delighted in torturing Simon Barlow.
‘Corrie’ previously made headlines with a similar storyline back in 2000, when Tina O’Brien’s character Sarah-Louise Platt discovered that she was pregnant just weeks after celebrating her 13th birthday. She was supported by her mum, Gail Platt, and eventually gave birth to a daughter, Bethany.
