Julie discussed the storyline with Holly Willoughby and Ben Shephard

During an appearance on ‘This Morning’, Julie explained: "I've loved watching it all and I love seeing that Hayley is still such a big part in Roy's life.

“It's been two years since Hayley left and in soap terms, that's decades! So for me, it works. They've done it so gently and beautifully. I'm rooting for Roy and Cathy."

Roy and Cathy's relationship has developed slowly

“I loved watching that episode and seeing that Hayley was still so part of it” Julie said of the scenes. “And seeing those moments of Roy being able to move on."

Roy’s not the only widower who’s found love in Weatherfield, and viewers have recently seen Ken Barlow enjoy a date with Audrey Roberts.
