A ‘Coronation Street’ spokesperson has denied that the show is about to be thrown into chaos, thanks to 17 actors all going on holiday at once.
The Sun on Sunday claimed that new producer Kate Oates was set for a nightmare couple of months, thanks to holidays approved by the soap’s previous boss Stuart Blackburn.
According to the paper, stars including Tina O’Brien and Lucy Fallon, who play mum and daughter Sarah and Bethany Platt, all have summer breaks coming up, despite the fact they need to film scenes for huge storylines.
A source told the paper: “Some [of the cast] have gone in the past few weeks, and some go in the next few weeks. But the overlaps mean that now we can’t shoot anything. They’ve really f***ed up.”
However, a spokesperson for the soap, has denied the claim, stating: “There is no issue at all with the number of people on holiday.
Kate has made a number of big changes since taking over on ‘Corrie’, and earlier this month, it was announced that by 2017, there will be six episodes screened a week.
In the nearer future, fans can look forward to the return of a number of Barlow family members - and they might not be the only familiar faces returning…
