Members of the ‘Coronation Street’ cast have received new contracts, complete with bumper pay rises, according to reports.
The show’s bosses are reportedly worried that many of their stars could be considering whether to leave the show, so they’ve made new deals with 14 actors in order to make sure there isn’t a “mass exodus”.
A number of 'Corrie' stars have reportedly signed new deals
According to The Sun, stars including Kate Ford, Samia Ghadie and Ryan Thomas have all signed new deals, as have Alan Halsall, Tisha Merry, Sam Aston and Katie McGlynn.
A show insider has reportedly told the paper that the cast were “shocked” by the TV bosses bold move.
“There has been a lot of change at Corrie and the bosses were determined not to lose more people,” they said.
Samia will remain a 'Corrie' cast member
A number of the show’s biggest stars have called time on their ‘Corrie’ careers in recent months, including Michelle Keegan who recently filmed her final scenes as Tina McIntyre.
Fan favourites Michelle Collins, Sue Johnston, Chris Gascoyne and Philip Lowrie have also all quit the show this year.
The show will welcome back some familiar faces though as Bill Roache and Michael Le Vell are both preparing to make their return after taking extended breaks.
