A couple are facing jail after they admitted fundraising for terrorism by sending money to a nephew fighting for Islamic State in Syria.

Mohammed Iqbal Golamaully, 48, and his wife, Nazimabee Golamaully, 45, from Streatham, south London, provided £219 to Zafirr Golamaully on or before August 13 2014.

Nazimabee Golamaully was arrested on April 2 2015 and her husband was held on December 8.

She appeared at the Old Bailey last month wearing a full Islamic dress and spoke only to enter her guilty plea, while her spouse admitted the same offence at an earlier hearing.

The court heard they both knew that Zafirr was fighting for Islamic State at the time they provided him with funds.

Judge Anuja Dhir QC warned Mrs Golamaully she could face jail for the "serious offence".

She was granted continued conditional bail, and her husband is also on bail ahead of sentencing today.
