Two Women Hit In The Face With 'Noxious Substance' In Croydon

A teenager and a woman in her 60s were both taken to hospital.

A teenage girl and a woman in her 60s have been hospitalised after a “noxious substance” was thrown in their faces in Croydon.

The attack happened in broad daylight on a quiet residential street in Thornton Heath just before midday on Monday.

Both suffered facial injuries and were taken to hospital.

The Met Police said in a statement: “Police were called at 11:44hrs on Monday, 8 April to reports of a noxious substance attack on County Road at the junction with Norbury Avenue, Thornton Heath.

“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade and found two female victims, one aged in her 60s and another in her teens, suffering facial injuries.

“They were taken to hospital where their injuries have been assessed non life-threatening.”

No arrests have been made.
