A father who overheard his gay son making a nervous phone call about “coming out” left him this heartwarming note.
The touching letter reassures him that he already knew about his son’s sexuality – and that it makes no difference to him.
The letter was first posted to gay rights group FCKH8.com’s Facebook page.

The in full text reads:
"Nate,
I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me. The only thing I need you to plan is bring home OJ and bread after class.
We are out, like you now.
I’ve known you were gay since you were six—I’ve loved you since you were born
-Dad
PS: Your mom and I think you and Mike make a cute couple"
Not much else is known about Nate and his dad, although FCKH8.com founder Luke Montogmery told Yahoo the note was emailed to him and he almost missed it due to the volume of “crazy stuff” he gets.
He added: “It’s actually sad so many people are excited about it. And what I think that says is, one, it’s rare, and that’s really bad. And two, people are really craving this kind of reaction.”
At time of press, the original image had been shared more than 50,000 times.
The note began circulating online as an American senator announced how his gay son's coming out changed his opinion on marriage equality.
Conservative Portman revealed he changed his opinion on the matter two years ago when his son Will came out to him and his wife.
"It allowed me to think of this issue from a new perspective, and that's of a Dad who loves his son a lot and wants him to have the same opportunities that his brother and sister would have - to have a relationship like Jane and I have had for over 26 years," Portman said during an interview with Ohio reporters.
