Danniella Westbrook has denied recent reports suggesting she had begun using cocaine again, insisting that quotes thought to be from her were actually the work of a hacker.

The former ‘EastEnders’ actress, who has a long history of addiction, was reported to have relapsed after discovering that her boyfriend had been unfaithful, according to an interview allegedly given to the Daily Star.

However, she has now claimed that she did not send the quotes, but from a hacker who had gained access to her social media accounts and email.

The false quotes given to the Daily Star earlier this week claimed that Danniella felt she was “back to square one” in terms of her addiction, but wanted to “stop using”.

Danniella has been clean for the past two years, after returning to rehab in 2014, when she relapsed.

Speaking about this a year later, she admitted: “I think you can never stop working on yourself and if you want to prevent things happening in your life, you need to keep moving on and moving forwards.

“I do feel very blessed that I am still here and I do feel ashamed that I made a huge mistake with relapse and everything. I do feel ashamed for my weakness.”

Prior to that, she had not used cocaine in a decade, after her severe addiction eventually led to her losing her role as Sam Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’ in 2000.

The past year has seen Danniella returning to the public eye in a big way, reprising her ‘EastEnders’ role for Peggy Mitchell’s funeral, after making it to the final of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in January.
