'Strictly Come Dancing' Finalist Danny Mac Lands First Role Since Leaving The Show

And he'll be joined by afamiliar co-star.

He may not have bagged the Glitterball trophy, but ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ finalist Danny Mac has already landed his first acting role since finishing runner up on the show.

The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor is set to appear in a new musical adaptation of ‘Sleepless In Seattle’, which is due to open next year.

What’s more, Danny will be joined by none other than his former co-star and wife-to-be, Carley Stenson.

The engaged couple will be playing the lead parts of Sam and Annie, famously played by Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in the original 1993 film.

‘Sleepless In Seattle’ will tour the UK in 2017, opening on April 1 in Plymouth, before heading to venues around the country.

Danny and Carley announced their engagement in March of this year, five years after first meeting while both starring on the Channel 4 soap.

While ‘Strictly’ is famous for its so-called “curse”, Danny has been keen to insist it hasn’t had a negative impact on his relationship, telling OK! magazine last month: “It’s not even an issue. Carley and I are stronger than we’ve ever been.”

After a successful time on the show, Danny made it all the way to this year’s ‘Strictly’ final, where he and partner Oti Mabuse competed against Louise Redknapp and Ore Oduba.

Ultimately, it was Ore who emerged victorious in the final, who gave an emotional speech thanking his professional partner Joanne Clifton for helping him through the contest.

The BBC Sports presenter has already reportedly found himself at the centre of a bidding war, with ITV said to be keen to lure him away from the BBC with a big money offer.
