This year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has already claimed one victim to the dreaded ‘Strictly curse’ (more on that later), but Danny Mac has insisted there’s no chance of it happening to him.
‘Strictly’ has become synonymous with what fans have dubbed the ‘curse’, with a long list of celebrity contestants including Caroline Flack, Susanna Reid and Rachel Riley all breaking up with their partners while competing in the BBC series.
But the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star, who is the favourite to raise the glitterball trophy this year with his dance partner Oti Mabuse, insists his relationship with his fiancée Carley Stenson is actually stronger than ever.
The 28-year-old, who is due to tie the knot next summer, told OK! magazine that his relationship with Oti is strictly (sorry) professional.
“It’s not even an issue,” he says. “Carley and I are stronger than we’ve ever been.”
In fact, Oti and Carley have become good friends and, together with her husband Marius Lepure, have been doing a lot of socialising together.
Oti said: “We all hang out together at the weekends – all four of us are doing this as a family.”
One ‘Strictly’ star who did fall victim to the curse this year was Daisy Lowe.
The model, who left the show this weekend, ended her five-month relationship with male model Bradley “Frankie” Wade, due to her filming schedule.
Daisy told The Sun: “People forget that with ‘Strictly’, it’s not just the training. You always have the show and you have to stay nearby the night before.
