David Beckham got the ultimate endorsement after donning a Friends t-shirt – from none other than Matthew Perry.

The footballer shared a snap of himself on Instagram wearing the tee, with an image from the Friends episode The One Where No One’s Ready, while out for a walk with his wife, Victoria.

The photo shows Matthew’s character Chandler Bing looking on in exasperation as Matt Le Blanc’s Joey Tribbiani lunges while wearing most of the contents of Chandler’s wardrobe.

It also features the famous line: “Could I be wearing any more clothes?”

After spotting the pic, Matthew re-posted it on his own Instagram page and wrote: “This guy has really good taste. Whoever that is.”

But not everyone got the joke and after fans flooded his page to tell him it was David Beckham, he clarified: “Guys, I know who it is! I was just joking.”

David’s son Cruz, 15, also commented on the post, writing: “Guess who bought him the shirt,” before David himself added: “Yes @cruzbeckham got me the shirt but could I be wearing anymore clothes?”

It’s not the first time David has had en encounter with one of the cast from Friends.

Last year, he stripped off and jumped into a hot tub with none other than Courteney Cox, to film a scene in the US sitcom Modern Family.

The former Friends star shared a pic of the moment, joking the pair were “too hot in the hot tub”.

David and Courteney were playing themselves in the drama as they competed together in a celebrity bowling tournament.
