David Beckham Takes Part In A School Sports Day, Admitting: 'I'm Always Tempted To Return To England'

'I'm Tempted To Return Home'

Saint David Beckham continues to spread joy wherever he goes after he surprised a bunch of school children earlier today.

The footballer turned up unannounced at Vaughan Primary School in South Harrow to take part in their sports day, where he also chatted to This Morning about his role as an ambassador for Sainsbury's 1 Million Kids Challenge, which encourages children to experience a paralympic sport in the run-up to the London Olympics.

"It's been a while (since I've been to school). I've been in my kids' playgrounds a few times but it's been a while since I've been in one in London," he told hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

Becks also talked about missing home, admitting he was tempted to return to England, but fears disrupting his childrens' routine.

"I always miss England and I always miss London and I'm always tempted to come back to England, but obviously right now the kids are in school and it's a critical time for my eldest Brooklyn - he's thirteen years old - so its important that they have their stable life at the moment... but at the end of the day, I always miss London, always," he said.

The first thing he did on his return to the UK earlier this week was to take his mum for pie and mash and drop in to see his nan, which he posted photos of online.

"I'm always seeing my Nan when I'm here and she was happy to introduce me to quite a few of her friends the other day and they all wanted a picture, which was nice," he said

David also revealed his wife Victoria gave him help on his recent shoot for Elle magazine.

He became the first male star to appear solo on the cover of the fashion mag, and admitted his desginer wife was on hand to give out pointers.

He said: "Yeah, she always give me tips, and she was there on the day and I think she liked the cover!"

On the criticism Posh faces for not smiling, he explained that's just her persona.

"She's very smiley at home!" he said. "I'd prefer her to be smiley at home than the other way round of course! But I think she's obviously had that perception for quite a few years now so... [but] she's a happy person, she's got a lot to be happy about - she's got four amazing kids."

Speaking about one of them in particular - his 11-month-old daughter Harper - he added: "Harper is totally different. She's relaxed, she's feminine - that was the biggest thing for me, it sounds silly but, everything about her is feminine, so having a little girl... it still amazes me every time I change the nappy - I'm like, 'Oh my God, we've got a little girl!'... it still amazes me."
